Most of our customers use seaweed flakes.
(Add a spoon full of flakes to big pot and it and steep it
for half an hourby 40 degrees centigrade. Let it cool and pour it through a sieve and add the
liquid to the bath). Other will fill muslin bags, large tea infusion
balls, or old stockings with dried seaweed. We sell a re-usable filter gab for €1.-
Another option: wrap the
seaweed in linen, cheese cloth before use.(The bags are needed to keep
the seaweed from going down the drain of your bath.
Relaxing your body will help the cleaning and rejuvenation
process:
Try to control the environment/ avoid disturbances, choose the
time/moment carefully. Not only cleansing and relaxing but make it
revitalising and rejuvenating as well. It is very important to create
the right environment at home. Use something that appeals to every sense
you have. Good music, scent (Aromatherapy oils like lavender), light
candles that produce the wanted scents or flowering
plants (such as plumeria or citrus).
Massage: Softly rub your body using a sponge, massage it into
your skin using long strokes towards the heart, starting with your feet,
‘It’s excellent for soothing itchy and dry skin and helps detoxify by
pulling out toxic waste from the pores. Some claim that seaweed can
reduce/absorb toxins by up to 50 percent of its dry weight.
Working/walking is a stressful activity and cause of tear,
stress and ware. You have to use your muscles just to be able to
stand/walk.. (Gravity) We humans do walking straight what makes it even
worse. When you prepare you bath take enough water to immerse the whole
body like the seaweed can float. The pull of gravity temporally
interrupted. It will help you to relax. A way to measure the relaxation
is to watch your hand. If you tend to form a fist you have to relax a
little bit more. ‘It’s a great way to de-stress after a long day at
work.
Rinse off with
warm water after you finish your bath.

But most important: make the Sea or Ocean experience a regular
part of your routine, you reap a bounty of beauty and health benefits,
you need it. It takes just 20 minutes. Caution: Those with high blood
pressure or other health problems should consult their doctors before
having a hot seaweed bath.

All the sea’s mineral substances are concentrated in the seaweed
cells/wall and you have to chrush them to release the active nutrients.
Similar to a tiny chemical manufacturing plant, they also
manufacture different proteins and vitamins. Each variety of seaweed
possesses its own individual cocktail of
elements, so it is essential to choose the appropriate seaweed for the
required function.

*Kelp (laminaria),
a large leafy brown algae, grows along cold
climate coastlines and can
bring a healthy
glow to skin. "Kelp powder has exfoliating properties. "
It increases blood
circulation and stimulates lymph production to eliminate toxins.
Most Frequently used in USA, Japan and Germany.
*Bladderwrack (fucus),
a brown seaweed,
is often used in cellulite-reducing bath/ creams to
eliminate excess fluid from the skin.
Fucus serratus
is frequently used in countries like Ireland, Scotland, the UK and continental Europe.
*Dulse/Dillisk,
to increase the protein
content, decorative, nourishment of cells.
*Carrageenan,
is an extract made from Irish sea moss, is commonly used as
a cosmetic thickening agent.
"It's a
great moisturiser that holds nutrients and water in.
You can Boil water in a
large pot, add the Irish Moss and steep for half an hour or so and remove the
seaweed. If you do not want to boil it use flakes instead and steep it in 40 degrees centigrade water.
*Milled/Crushed algae is often used in seaweed masks.
